It’s important to teach people about genocide.
According to Joseph Olzacki ,The new law requires school districts to write a curriculum and make an annual report on genocide education. It also sets up a grant program. A genocide education bill that was passed by the Senate is a long way from this one. However, the new law does have some important provisions, such as a focus on regional history and dynamics. People who don’t like the bill included Rep. Peter Durant in his testimony. Durant said that the bill would let outside groups to influence the curriculum.
The new law creates a trust fund that will be used to pay for genocide education. The money raised by the fund would be used to make educational curriculum and help teachers improve their skills. The money for the trust fund would come from fines for civil rights and hate crimes. The bill also says that the state must get the money from these criminals.
